RMEB Inc. Whitley Auction Wins Big At Colorado Auctioneers Convention in Denver
Rocky Mountain Estate Brokers Inc. recently won, in a big way, at the 2009 Colorado Auctioneers Association Convention held in Denver, Colorado. Many people recognize the bright yellow auction brochures created by the auction marketing staff at RMEB. RMEB won the brochure categories Antiques, Collectibles, Estate & General Household, Real Estate Residential or Farm and Ranch, Farm & Ranch Livestock, Machinery and Equipment. They also won the top award for company promotional items. This is not the first time RMEB has won auction advertising and marketing awards on a state level but Jaime Foote, RMEB Auction Coordinator stated, “I do believe this is the most awards we have won in a year. It is an honor to be recognized by the CAA.”

RMEB Auctioneer David Whitley Elected CAA President
David P. Whitley, President and CEO of Rocky Mountain Estate Brokers Inc. was elected President of the Colorado Auctioneers Association at its 2009 Convention recently held in Denver, Colorado. Whitley has served as a board member and officer of the CAA for the past eight years. Whitley stated, “It is an honor to be elected to serve as President of the Colorado Auctioneers Association. I know the many benefits I have received from my membership in CAA.”
The CAA has over 140 member auctioneers in Colorado. Its members subscribe to a code of ethics that protects consumers and helps to regulate the business. The CAA promotes its members and their auctions at www.coloradoauctioneers.org. It also offers numerous educational opportunities for its members so they can stay in the lead in the Auction profession in Colorado. It also works to increase the use of the auction method of marketing as a time sensitive, fair and open way to market assets. Auctioneers Attend Colorado Convention in Denver
Rocky Mountain Estate Brokers Inc. Auctioneers and managers recently attended the Colorado Auctioneers Association Convention held in Denver, Colorado. While there, they attended seminars on auction methods and continuing auction education. National experts in their areas of expertise presented these seminars. Real Estate auctions are a hot topic. There were several opportunities to learn about new, cost efficient ways to market and sell real estate at auction. David Whitley, RMEB CEO and lead Auctioneer said, “As the economy and real estate market has weakened, we have been inundated with requests from people to conduct real estate auctions. We are always looking for more ways to effectively market and sell real estate in a short period.
A nationally acclaimed author and speaker presented two seminars on time management and organization. Auctioneer Casey Giddings stated, “Our clients keep us incredibly busy. Time management is one of our most important tools in the auction business.” Casey also participated in the Colorado Champion Auctioneer Contest. She made everyone at RMEB very proud of her auctioneering skills.

DAVID P. WHITLEY JOINS COLLEAGUES IN WASHINGTON DC FOR AUCTION ACTION ON CAPITOL HILL DAY

Whitley CAI CES recently joined fellow members of the National Auctioneers Association (NAA) in Washington, DC for the association’s annual Auction Action on Capitol Hill Day. This annual event brings industry leaders from across the nation to meet with members of Congress to educate them about the quarter-trillion dollar live-auction industry and discuss issues of concern to professional auctioneers.
Participants this year educated members of Congress about the current foreclosure crisis and the current system for disposing of foreclosed home. Contrary to popular belief, professional auctioneers do not manage the sales of foreclosed home at public auction and the reality is that the majority of foreclosure auctions fail, costing distressed homeowners their homes and equity, as well as costing the American taxpayer billions of dollars.
Whitley is a member of the National Auctioneers Association and the Colorado Auctioneers Association. He is the President and CEO of Rocky Mountain Estate Brokers Inc. and has been an active member in the auction industry for 23 years.
